Behavioral OR and behavioral decision making

Humans are not perfectly rational decision makers, but their behavior is influenced by many biases in decision making. These biases need to be taken into account when developing models to support decision makers, both in the way input is requested from decision makers and in the way, information is provided to them. A particularly innovative aspect of our research in this area is to combine the study of biases with personality and psychometric characteristics of decision makers. This allows not only to obtain insight for which decision makers these biases are particularly relevant, but also to develop individualized strategies to avoid them.
