The chair for empirical economics of Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg offers a position
at the PhD student level
starting January 1, 2026 or after. The salary corresponds to a 75 % position on the TV-L E13 pay scale.
The position facilitates and supports independent research leading to a dissertation. The chair offers an attractive research environment as well as a motivated and collegial team. The PhD student benefits from our research activities and can participate in the programs of BGPE (www.bgpe.de), the Laser-Network (www.laser.uni-erlangen.de), and the IAB (www.iab.de). Additionally, the location provides excellent access to data through various research data centers. The position also involves responsibilities in teaching and administration at the chair.
Applicants should be close to completion or have completed their graduate studies with good or very good results. Proficiency in the German language is indispensable. The successful candidate is also proficient in English and has a solid background in econometrics or statistics. We are looking for an individual with experience in empirical economic research and a keen interest in working with data.
