GOR Young Researchers Award for Ninja Scherr

12.09.2025

Dr. Ninja Scherr received the Young Researchers Award from the German Society of Operations Research (GOR).

Dr. Ninja Scherr (Institute for Business Decisions and Analytics) was awarded the GOR Young Researchers Award for her outstanding research work at the “International Conference on Operations Research 2025” (Bielefeld).

The Young Researchers Award is presented by the German Operations Research Society (GOR) to outstanding young scientists in the field of operations research whose excellence is demonstrated, among other things, by a publication in one of the GOR or EURO journals.

In her study “Balancing resources for dynamic vehicle routing with stochastic customer requests” (together with Marlin Ulmer and Dirk Mattfeld), Ninja Scherr addresses a key challenge in modern logistics: planning routes in such a way that they are both efficient and flexible. Logistics companies such as parcel services face the daily task of adhering to planned deliveries while integrating last-minute pick-up orders into their routes.
